Jokes About Real Estate - Why Not!
Thursday, June 19th, 2008Have you ever had one of those moments when things are so bleak that you just burst out laughing? The current ice cold real estate market is having that very effect on a lot of people. If you are down in the dumps, a laugh can help. Just consider the following.
I listed a maintenance free house. In the last 25 years there hasn’t been any maintenance.
WHEN we put our house up for sale, I stressed emphatically that my sons make their beds each morning. I was surprised and impressed that my 15-year-old son’s bed was made perfectly each day. One night when I went into his room, I discovered his secret he was fast asleep on the floor in his sleeping bag.
The dream of the older generation was to pay off a mortgage. The dream of today’s young families is to get one.
This country is great. It’s the only place where you can borrow money for a downpayment, get a 1st and 2nd mortgage and call yourself a homeowner.
A Modern home is a place where a switch controls everything but the kids, and it has gadgets to do everything except make the payments.
Definition of “easy care yard” - The landscaping is dirt, cement and dead plants. It doesn’t get much easier than that when it comes to caring for it.
Homallucination: the ability to convince yourself that while the price of everyone else’s home will fall, your neighborhood is clearly different
Did you hear about Robin Hood’s house? It has a little John.
Definition of “one of a kind” in real estate ads - Architect was a heroin addict. So ugly, the neighbors are pooling money to have it demolished!
My buyer told me that he lived in the same house for 10 years. When I checked, I found out he’d still be there today if the Governor hadn’t pardoned him.
There is no escaping the fact the current real estate market is an absolute bear. There is a definite silver lining, however. Later this year or perhaps next year, it will turn around. When it does, people are going to bounce back with a vengeance. Until then, just smile.
Irvine Senior Centers
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008Senior Centers
There are two senior centers in Irvine. One is located in the village of Woodbridge & is on the corner of Lake Road and Alton. This center offers a chance for residents to meet others, play cards, participate in many activities like dance lessons & much more. The center offers recreational & educational opportunities & has a lunch room. The center also offers adult day care, health care services & counseling. There are programs all day long & is very popular with the seniors in the community.
The Senior center in University Park on Seaton is similar in the activities they offer. They also offer many classes that help keep seniors active
